Respecting your privacy
- House of Danielle (“we”, “us” or “our”) respects your right to privacy and is committed to handling personal information responsibly and transparently, in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).
- “Personal information” is information that identifies you, or could reasonably be used to identify you.
- This policy explains how we collect, use, store and disclose personal information when you visit houseofdanielle.com.au, send us an enquiry, leave a review, or hire or order a gown from us.
Collection of personal information
- Enquiries. When you send an enquiry, we collect your name, email address, phone number (if provided), event date, the dress and size you are interested in, whether you would like a try-on, and anything you include in your message.
- Hires and orders. When you hire or order a gown, we collect the details needed to complete your booking, such as your contact details, your postal address if your gown is being posted, payment details for hire fees, bonds and refunds, and your measurements for made-to-order and custom pieces.
- Reviews. When you leave a review, we collect your first name, email address, rating, occasion and review.
- Website visits. When you visit the website, we may collect information about your device and browser, your approximate location (city level), the pages you view, how you interact with the site and how you found us.
- Please avoid including sensitive information, such as health information, in an enquiry unless it is necessary for your request.
How we collect your personal information
- We collect personal information when you submit a form on the website, contact us by email, phone or social media, attend a try-on or fitting, or hire or order a gown.
- Some technical and usage information is collected automatically through cookies and analytics tools, described in clause 7.
Use of your personal information
- We use personal information to respond to enquiries, arrange try-ons and fittings, manage hires and orders, process payments, postage and bond refunds, and make garments to your measurements.
- We also use it to publish reviews you have agreed to share, understand how visitors use the website, improve the website, protect our forms from spam and misuse, and meet our legal obligations.
- We do not sell or rent your personal information.
- We do not send marketing emails. If that changes, we will only send them to people who have opted in, and every email will include a way to unsubscribe.
Disclosure of your personal information
- We may disclose personal information to service providers who help us run the business, such as our website host, email provider, payment provider and postal services, but only as far as is reasonably necessary for the purposes in this policy.
- We may disclose personal information where required by law, such as in response to a court order, subpoena or request from a law enforcement agency.
- Where we disclose personal information to a third party, we take reasonable steps to ensure they handle it consistently with this policy.
Overseas disclosure of personal information
- Some of the service providers we use process information outside Australia, mainly in the United States. These currently include Vercel (website hosting), Resend (email delivery), Google (Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager), Microsoft (Microsoft Clarity) and Cloudflare (Cloudflare Turnstile). Our payment provider may also process information overseas.
- We take reasonable steps to ensure these providers handle personal information consistently with the APPs. Each provider is also bound by its own privacy policy and terms.
Reviews
- Reviews are read by Danielle before they are published. Only your first name, occasion, rating and review are shown. Your email address is never published.
- You can ask us to remove your review at any time by emailing hello@houseofdanielle.com.au.
Security of your personal information
- We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure, including using secure, reputable service providers and limiting who can access it.
- No method of transmitting or storing information online is completely secure. If a data breach is likely to cause you serious harm, we will let you know.
Data retention
- We keep personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose it was collected, or as required by law, such as business and tax record-keeping obligations. When it is no longer needed, we delete it.
- If you have had a piece made, we keep your measurements so we can make or alter future pieces for you, unless you ask us to delete them.
- Analytics providers keep information according to their own retention settings and policies.
Access to and correction of your personal information
- You can ask to access the personal information we hold about you, correct anything that is inaccurate, or ask us to delete it, unless we are required to keep it by law. Email hello@houseofdanielle.com.au. We do not charge for reasonable requests and will respond within 30 days.
- We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request, and in some circumstances we may refuse a request as permitted by the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
Complaints about privacy
- If you have a concern about how we have handled your personal information, please email hello@houseofdanielle.com.au. We take complaints seriously and will work with you to resolve them.
- If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
