Terms and conditions

Last updated October 2026

  1. About these terms

    1. These terms apply to your use of houseofdanielle.com.au and to any gown you hire, order or have designed by House of Danielle (“we”, “us” or “our”).
    2. If you hire a gown, you will also sign our hire agreement. If anything in these terms differs from your signed hire agreement, the hire agreement applies.
    3. Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law.
  2. Enquiries and try-ons

    1. Sending an enquiry does not reserve a gown or a date. Availability is confirmed when you book.
    2. Try-ons are free and by appointment at our studio in St Kilda East, Melbourne. Your size is confirmed with you at the try-on.
  3. Customers under 18

    1. If you are under 18, a parent or guardian must sign the hire agreement, pay the bond and agree to these terms on your behalf. They are responsible for the gown's care and return during the hire.
    2. Made-to-order and custom pieces for customers under 18 must be ordered and paid for by a parent or guardian.
    3. Customers under 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at try-ons and fittings. Customers aged 16 and 17 are welcome to attend on their own.
  4. Gown hire

    1. Sizes. Gowns are available to hire in sizes 6 to 12, subject to availability. We recommend enquiring as early as possible.
    2. Booking. Your booking is confirmed once the hire fee and bond have been paid. Your hire dates are agreed at the time of booking.
    3. Hire period. Gowns are hired for up to 7 days.
    4. Pickup and postage. Gowns can be picked up from our studio in St Kilda East by appointment, or posted to you at an additional cost. If your gown is posted, you are responsible for returning it by the agreed date using a tracked service.
  5. Bond

    1. A bond of 50% of the gown's purchase price is payable when you book.
    2. The bond is refunded within 10 business days of the gown being returned on time, professionally dry cleaned and in the same condition it was hired in.
    3. Any amounts payable under Care and return may be deducted from the bond.
  6. Care and return

    1. Cleaning. You must have the gown professionally dry cleaned before returning it, and include the dry cleaning receipt. If no receipt is provided, the cost of dry cleaning will be deducted from your bond.
    2. Late returns. Gowns returned after the agreed date incur a late fee of $50 per day, which may be deducted from your bond.
    3. Damage and loss. If the gown is damaged beyond normal wear, or not returned, repair or replacement costs are charged as set out in your hire agreement and may be deducted from your bond.
  7. Cancellations

    1. If you cancel 7 or more days before your hire date, you can choose a full refund or store credit.
    2. If you cancel within 7 days of your hire date, you will receive store credit only.
  8. Made-to-order pieces

    1. Each made-to-order gown is made to your individual measurements, taken by our team. Please allow up to 8 weeks.
    2. Because every piece is made specifically for you, we do not offer returns, exchanges or refunds for change of mind on made-to-order pieces.
    3. One optional fitting or alteration appointment is available at an additional cost. Alterations are for minor refinements only and do not include a remake or redesign of the garment.
  9. Custom design

    1. Custom designs begin with a consultation about your idea. The design, timeline and price are agreed with you in writing before any work begins.
    2. Once work has started, custom pieces cannot be cancelled, returned or exchanged for change of mind.
  10. Prices and payment

    1. Prices shown on the website are a guide and may change without notice. Your price is confirmed when you book or order.
    2. All prices are in Australian dollars. Accepted payment methods are confirmed at the time of booking.
  11. Use of this website

    1. We photograph every gown as accurately as we can, but colours may appear slightly different on different screens. A try-on is the best way to see a gown in person.
    2. All designs, photographs and content on this website belong to House of Danielle and may not be copied, reproduced or used without our written permission.
    3. Reviews are read before they are published. We may decline or remove reviews that are offensive, unrelated to our products or services, or contain personal information.
  12. Liability

    1. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of this website or our services.
    2. Nothing in this clause limits any guarantee or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law.
  13. Privacy

    1. How we collect and handle your personal information is set out in our privacy policy.
  14. General

    1. These terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia.
    2. We may update these terms from time to time. The version published on this page at the time of your booking or order applies.
    3. Questions about these terms can be sent to hello@houseofdanielle.com.au.
